Place of Production:
Tieguanyin tea is mainly produced in the Wuyi Mountain region of China's Fujian Province, especially in the rock tea production area of Wuyi Mountain. The unique climate and soil conditions of this region, as well as the moderately elevated alpine environment, provide ideal conditions for the growth of Tieguanyin tea. The unique mineral content of the rock tea production area is also one of the key factors in the unique flavor of Tieguanyin tea.
Characteristics:
Tieguanyin tea is characterized by its strong floral and osmanthus aroma, as well as its unique rocky flavor. Its tea leaves are tightly knotted in shape and dark green in color. After brewing, the tea broth is clear and bright, with a mellow flavor and a light fruity and floral aroma. Tieguanyin tea is moderately fermented, between green tea and black tea, making it a combination of both.
Brewing method:
Tieguanyin tea is brewed in a relatively unique way that requires attention to temperature and timing. Generally speaking, brewing with hot water at high temperature (about 95°C) can stimulate the aroma of the tea. The following is a common brewing method:
Take an appropriate amount of Tieguanyin tea leaves into a teapot.
Rinse the tea leaves with a small amount of hot water first and pour off the water from the first brewing, this helps to activate the tea leaves and remove any dust on the surface of the tea leaves.
Then fill with hot water again and steep for about 20-30 seconds.
As the number of brews increases, you can gradually extend the steeping time to feel the different layers and flavors.
Multi-brewability:
Tieguanyin tea has high multi-brewability, meaning that it can be brewed several times and maintain a better tea flavor each time. As the number of brews increases, the aroma and flavor of the tea leaves gradually change, presenting different characteristics, so experiencing Tieguanyin tea is also a kind of enjoyment.
Tea culture:
Tieguanyin tea has a long history in Chinese tea culture and is often considered one of the traditional classics. In the tea ceremony and tea tasting culture, Tieguanyin tea is even regarded as one of the representatives of elegance. Its unique rocky flavor and multi-layered taste make it one of the most revered teas in tea ceremonies and tea tasting events.
